About

I am an award-winning producer and reporter with an interest in sport, entertainment and current affairs

My skills span across multiple genres within the media. I have experience as a researcher, producer, presenter, author and editor. I can record and edit content for radio and podcasts, shoot and edit content for TV and film, write news stories for print and online publications with skills in optimising content for digital publications through SEO editing.

During my time with Radio 4 and Radio London, I have developed a more astute understanding of the many ways to convey news. I have thoroughly enjoyed being tasked with producing ear-catching stories that allow me to be more creative with sound and music – a couple of notable examples for Radio 4 are segments on the Wombles and Angela Merkel’s Großer Zapfenstreich.

This has led me to take on more ambitious tasks for Radio London, like creating a fifteen minute illustrated montage about the life of Terry Venables after he passed away, and a ten minute recap of the station’s coverage of the final day of the 2022/23 Championship season – all whilst outputting the live games as they happened. And this skill has greatly helped in my work as the producer for the Official Ipswich Town Podcast. My experience has also led me to develop my skills in important BBC applications such as OpenMedia, Dira and JupiterWeb.

During my master’s course at City University, I gained practical newsroom experience, working as the technical director for television and controlling the newsroom system, Burli, in radio. As well as this, I reported live without a script on multiple occasions, produced bulletins for radio and led the digital team as editor. The course also helped me develop skills in Adobe Creative Cloud and Datawrapper, which has greatly contributed to my proficiency in researching, presenting and editing news stories. At the end of my MA, I won a BJTC award for a documentary I made on living with anosmia.

I am greatly interested in sport and its sociological importance in society. At the end of my undergraduate degree at the University of Edinburgh, I wrote my dissertation on how football fills a similar sociological space in British society to religion, and I produced several sports stories during my time at City. This enthusiasm has led me to work both as the sports producer for The Today Programme and for the BBC Radio London Sport Team.
